Editing

What is Editing?

Editing is the process of checking for errors in the content of a manuscript and requesting they be revised by the author along with suggestions of how things may be improved.

This can be developmental (also called global) editing, which is the editing of conceptual parts of the manuscript such as plot-holes or character archs/ development. Another major type is copyediting (similar to proofreading) in which the editor or editorial team searches for issues in spelling, grammar, or other inconsistencies or errors within the actual written text. Both are important to making a manuscript professional, comprehensible, and immersive to the reader. Singularity Press offers editing packages of each two listed editing types, as well as our all inclusive package where our editors will comb through the manuscript multiple times for all types of book editing.
